Interesting Case Discussions - submit your case now

The interesting cases discussion sessions at recent WMS Congresses have been among our most popular and best reviewed sessions of the entire Congress programme. Through these sessions, we are able to bring our combined global knowledge to bear on complex or challenging clinical cases of patients with neuromuscular disorders.

At WMS 2026, we are holding another interesting neuromuscular cases session. It will take place in the main Congress hall on Thursday 1 October from 14:00-16:00. During the session, we will share a variety of cases and encourage audience participation. We are now calling on our global audience to submit their cases for presentation during the session. The deadline to submit your cases is Friday 4 September. We have outlined the process below.

In the session, we will look at clinical cases demonstrating both classical and unusual presentations of neuromuscular disorders for educative purposes, focusing on biopsy pathology, which are either unsolved or have been solved but remain unpublished. Cases will be interactive with the aim of enhancing learning in neuromuscular medicine.

Submission guidelines

Please submit a short abstract describing the key features of the case and pathology, and highlighting why this case is of special interest by Friday 4 September. You can include up to four images summarising the case. The case should include clinical, laboratory parameters and focus on morphological findings, supported with adequate iconography (See above). We have emailed all registered delegates for WMS 2026 with a unique link to the portal. Please check your emails for your link.

The case committee will select the cases for presentation from the abstracts.

Authors of the cases selected will be invited to present the case at the interesting case discussions session. Presenters of accepted cases are not eligible for WMS fellowships.

Authors of cases not selected for presentation during the interesting case discussions session may be contacted by WMS regarding the potential use of their cases in other WMS activities.

The deadline for interesting case submissions is Friday 4 September 2026.
Selected presenters will be notified by Wednesday 16 September 2026.
